助動詞の構文(1)

1 He must be a good walker to walk such a long distance.

must「〜にちがいない」確信のある推量を表す。

2 Her story can't be true.She often tells lies.

cannot「〜のはずがない。」否定的推量を表す。

3 a.You don't have to answer all the questions.
b.You need not answer all the questions.

need not「〜する必要はない。」（＝don't have to〜＝don't need to〜）

4 a.I will give you a bicycle for your birthday.
b.You shal have a bicycle for your birthday.

You shall have〜「わたしは君に〜をあげよう。」（＝I will give you〜）

5 You had better go home before the rain starts.

had better + 原形「〜した[する]ほうがよい、〜しなさい。」

6 You had better not sit up late at night.

had better not + 原形「〜しないほうがよい。」

7 a:You have good reason to be angry.
b:You may well be angry.

may well +原形「〜するのももっともだ。」（＝have good reason to〜）

8 I would like to have a look at your stamp collection.

would like to〜「〜したいのですが。」

9 I would like you to think what you would have done in may place.

would like + 人 + to〜「人に〜してもらいたいのですが。」

10 a:I would play tennis with him every Sunday.
b:I used to play tennis with him every Sunday.

used to〜「よく〜したものだ（った）。」（過去の習慣動作）「以前は〜であった。」（過去の状態）

would(often)〜「よく〜したものだ（った）。」（過去の習慣動作）過去の状態は表せない。
