お母さんとお父さんが歳をとっていうって、考えるだけで耐えられないよ。

　can't stand...は、「･･･には耐えられない、･･･はどうしてもダメだ」と言うとき使います。

A:Are you interested in going to the beach this weekend?
　週末海に行くのはどう。

B:Sorry.I like the sound of the surf but I just can't stand the crowd.
　悪いね。潮騒はすきなんだけど、とにかく人ごみが耐えられないんだ。

A:Would you mind doing the speaking part of the presentation?
　プレゼンの話す役をやっていただけますか。

B:I'm afraid I rather dislike public speaking.Is there another role I could fill?
　悪いけど人前で話す役をやっていただけますか。

A:I'm making a snack.Would you like some toast with butter and jam?
　おやつを作ってるんです。バターとジャムを塗ったトーストはいかがですか。

B:No jam,thanks.I hate getting sticky.
　ジャムはいりませんか。ベタベタになるのが嫌いなんです。
